Overage charges apply when monthly document generation exceeds your plan's included allowance. Starter overages are billed at $0.09 per document. Growth overages at $0.05 per document. Overages bill at the end of each billing period and you will receive a notification before approaching your plan limit.

Common Questions.

What counts as a document?
A document is one PDF generated by the Templx REST API in response to a single generation request. If a single API call returns three PDFs because three rules matched the incoming payload, that counts as three documents. Preview generations in the workbench do not count against your monthly allowance.
Can I change plans as my usage grows?
Yes. You can upgrade from Starter to Growth at any time and the change takes effect immediately. Downgrading follows your current billing period. If you are on Growth and your usage or tenant requirements grow beyond what Growth supports, we will work with you on an Enterprise arrangement there is no cliff.
What happens if I exceed my monthly document allowance?
Generation does not stop. You will receive a notification when you approach your plan limit. Overages are charged at the per-document overage rate at the end of the billing period. If you are consistently exceeding your allowance, the Growth plan or an Enterprise arrangement will almost always be more economical.
What is a tenant?
A tenant is a completely isolated instance of the platform with its own placeholders, templates, workflows, users, and document history. For most regulated industry teams, one tenant is sufficient. ISVs serving multiple clients typically need one tenant per client to maintain data isolation between them.
Does the Starter plan include everything needed to evaluate the platform?
Yes. The Starter plan gives you full access to the Word plugin, the REST API, the approval workflow (up to three sequential stages), the rules engine, and the complete audit trail. The limitations are on volume (1,000 documents/month), tenants (one), users (five), and workflow complexity (sequential only on Starter). You will not hit a feature wall during evaluation only a volume or complexity wall if your production needs exceed the Starter limits.
Is there a free trial?
We do not currently offer a self-serve free trial. The best way to evaluate Templx is to request a demo we will walk through the platform on a use case relevant to your workflow, and if you want to proceed we can get you set up on Starter immediately.
Can Templx be deployed on-premise or in a private cloud?
